The ingredients needed to cook Paanakam:
- You need 2.5 glasses water
- Provide 120 grams jaggery powder
- Use Juice of 1/2 a large lemon
- Take 1 pinch nutmeg powder
- You need 1/2 teaspoon fine green cardamom powder
- Use 1 very small pinch of edible camphor
- Take 3-4 basil/holy tulsi leaves
- Take 1 pinch salt(optional)

- Bring the water to a boil a pot
- Reduce heat then, and add all the ingredients one by one
- Mix and let the water simmer on low heat till all the ingredients dissolve well
- Take off heat once done and allow to cool completely
