Heat oil in a kadahi, add cumin seeds and once they crackle, add the onion, ginger, garlic, and saute till the onion turns translucent. - Once done add the chopped tomato, diced tinde, asafoetida, turmeric powder, salt, red chilli powder and stir. - Cook covered till the vegetable becomes soft, stirring once or twice. Add little water if required.
  2. When the vegetables are nearly cooked add coriander powder and garam masala powder and stir.
  3. Cook covered for about 2 minutes and then turn off the flame. Take out in a bowl and serve hot garnished with coriander leaves.
