The ingredients needed to cook Apple & Sage Dressing:
  1. Prepare 2 cup Celery, diced
  2. Use 1 cup Onion, diced
  3. Get 2 cup Apples: peeled, cored & diced
  4. Take 1/2 cup Butter or margarine
  5. Get 3 cup Chicken or veggie broth
  6. Provide 14 oz Seasoned bread cubes, I used a sage and onion pepperidge farms brand
  7. Prepare 1 tsp Dried sage or up to 1/4 cup chopped fresh sage
Steps to make Apple & Sage Dressing:
  1. Sauté the diced veggies and apple in the butter and herbs until soft.
  2. Add the broth and heat until warmed.
  3. Place the bread cubes in a large mixing bowl.
  4. Ladle the broth mixture over the bread and stir so it is evenly distributed.
  5. Place stuffing in a large casserole dish sprayed with oil spray.
  6. Bake at 350 for 30-45 minutes depending on your preference. I like mine a little crunchier so I go about 45 minutes. I also do mine uncovered, but if you like it softer and moister, cover with a lid or foil.
