The ingredients needed to prepare Tofu Caprese:
- Use 1.5 oz tofu (extra firm, firm or soft as desired)
- Use 1 tomato
- Use 2-3 Basil leaves
- Use Olive oil
- Use Salt
- Use Black pepper
Instructions to make Tofu Caprese:
- Remove water from tofu as much as possible and slice when ready. (You can wrap tofu with kitchen papers and let it sit for an hour. Add weight if necessary.)
- Slice tomato.
- Place sliced tofu and tomato alternately on a plate.
- Spray olive oil over and add salt & pepper.
- Break basil leaves with fingers and sprinkle over.
- FYI - I used this extra firm tofu from Trader’s Joe.
- FYI - olive oil spray is just for convenience. Of course regular olive oil is as good!
