The ingredients needed to prepare Karachi halwa:
  1. Prepare 1 cup cornflour /corn starch
  2. Take 3 cup water
  3. Use 2 1/2 cup sugar
  4. Provide 1 1/2 tsp lemon juice or (tatri)
  5. Provide 10 tbsp ghee
  6. Use 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  7. Provide 1/2 cup cashew nuts
Instructions to make Karachi halwa:
  1. In a large mixing bowl,add 1cup corn flour,followedby 3cup water mix well without forming any lumps set aside - in a non stick pan add sugar,furthur add 2cups water and mix well allow the syrup to boil do not allow the syrup to turn one string consistency then pour the prepared corn starch mixture into the boiling sugar syrup (mix the prepared cornflour mixture well before pouring
  2. Stir continuosly on low heat and add lemon juice once the cornflour mixture starts to thicken add ghee
  3. Maintain a low heat and keep stirring till the mixture thickness without forming lumps repeat ghee little by little and keep in stirring then add in cordomon pow and still well and crushed cashew nuts and mix well add food (orange) colour and combine well off the flame
  4. And immedietly transfer to a tray.level the halwa to rest for 2hour.finely cut into square shape
