The ingredients needed to make Dried Shrimp Masala:
- You need 1 Cup Onions - finely chopped
- Use 1.5 Cups Tomatoes - finely chopped
- Provide 4 Green chillies - chopped
- Prepare 1 Cup Shrimps Dried
- Get 1/2 Teaspoon Chilli powder
- Use 2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
- Get 5 Sprigs Coriander chopped
- Provide To Taste salt sugar ,
- Provide 1 Tablespoon oil
- Take 1 Tablespoon Garlic chopped
- Get 1 Teaspoon Ginger chopped
- Prepare 2 Pinchs Turmeric
- Prepare 6 Curry leaves
Instructions to make Dried Shrimp Masala:
- Heat a non-stick pan and dry roast the shrimps till crisp. Set aside to cool.
- On a high flame drizzle oil in the same pan and add in your chopped garlic, onions, ginger and green chillies and curry leaves. Saute until onions are translucent.
- Add in the chopped tomatoes and let them cook, stirring frequently. Add a pinch of salt to hasten this process.
- Once tomatoes are completely cooked, add the red chilly powder and the turmeric. The turmeric is only for colour, hence the minimal quantity.
- Mix in salt, sugar and some quantity of the chopped coriander, leaving the rest for garnish.
- Gently mix in the roasted shrimps.
- Once mixed, switch off the flame and add in the lemon juice and remaining coriander and serve. This dish can be eaten hot or cold, with rotis, parathas, bread, rice…just about anything and can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
In a bowl, combine the lemon juice, serrano, garam masala, cayenne, turmeric, mustard powder and coriander. Add the shrimp and toss to coat. Add the marinated dried prawns and mix everything well. Add salt only if needed as the dried prawns are usually salted. Serve this Spicy Fried Prawns with Rice.
